About Brennan Townshend — Head Coach at High Peak Running
Brennan Townshend has spent the past twelve years coaching endurance athletes, helping runners of all levels achieve their peak performance through scientifically driven training plans. His evidence-based approach and attention to detail ensure every athlete is fully prepared for races, events, and personal fitness goals.
As one of the UK’s leading fell, trail, and skyrunners, Brennan brings a wealth of competitive experience to his coaching.
He has claimed victories in prestigious events such as the Three Peaks (twice), Ultra Trail Snowdonia (UTS 50 by UTMB), Garmin Mourne Sky Race, Skiddaw, and Skyline Scotland. Representing Great Britain, Brennan has competed internationally at both World and European Off-Road Marathon Championships, and was crowned UK Skyrunning Champion in 2018 and finished in the top 20 at the Skyrunning World Championships that same year. Runner up in the English Fell Championships 2022.
Brennan is a UK Athletics and United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy (UESCA) certified running coach, as well as an Association of British Cycling coach. He is in the final year of a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Manchester Metropolitan University.
A lifelong learner, Brennan is committed to ongoing professional development—constantly refining his methods to help runners train smarter, perform stronger, and reach new heights on every trail.


About Katerina — Running Coach at High Peak Running
Katerina is a fully qualified UK Athletics Fell and Mountain Running Leader, UK Athletics Level 2 Coach, UESCA Running Coach, and Level 2 Personal Trainer.
With nearly seven years of coaching experience, Kat has guided runners from around the world — from complete beginners to advanced athletes — helping them build confidence, strength, and resilience. She prides herself on providing personalised support, accountability, and a genuine passion for helping others live a healthy, active lifestyle. Kat’s focus is to empower each runner to feel physically and mentally strong throughout training, racing, and beyond.

Beyond running, Kat is a mother of two and a former mountaineer, with an impressive climbing background that spans Nepal, the Alps, the Tian Shan, Norway, Russia, Uzbekistan, Scotland, and Wales. Her extensive experience in high-altitude expeditions, ice and rock climbing, and endurance sports provides a strong foundation for her coaching philosophy — blending physical performance with mental toughness and adventure-driven motivation.
