Head Coach Brennan Townshend

Brennan has been coaching endurance athletes for the past twelve years, using scientific driven plans to get the best performance from athletes and prepare them for races, events, and reach fitness goals. Brennan’s passion for running and attention to detail within a training plan will deliver you to your peak performances and progress you as a runner.
Brennan Townshend is one of the top fell, trail and sky runners in the UK and he is our head coach at High Peak Running. Brennan has won many races including 3 Peaks, Garmin Mourne Sky race, Skiddaw, Buttermere Sailbeck and Grisedale Horseshoe. He has run internationally for GB in both World and European Championships off road at marathon distance and was also UK Skyrunning Champion in 2018 and top 20 in the Skyrunning world championships that year.
Brennan is a qualified UK Athletics, United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy running coach and Association of British Cycling Coach, studying at Manchester Metropolitan University BSc of Sport and Exercise Science. Professional development is always at the heart of Brennan’s personal learning and development as a coach.

Kat Townshend

Katerina is a fully qualified UK Athletics Fell and Mountain running Leader, UK Athletics Level 2 and UESCA running coach and a Level 2 Personal Trainer.
For almost six years Kat has been coaching runners and building confidence in many athletes from all over the world from beginner to advanced. She pride herself on providing accountability and individualised support. She is passionate about helping others live a healthy, active lifestyle. Her focus is to help each runner to feel physically and mentally strong when training, racing and beyond.
She successfully completed; Buttermere Sail beck, Ring of Steall, Mourne Skyline, Skiddaw and the Snowdon Trail Half marathon. This included 3rd in the Skiddaw Fell Race and top 10 finish in Ireland in her first season of transitioning from road to fell.
Kat is a mother of two, former mountaineer having climbed in Nepal, the Alps, the Tian Shan, Norway, Russia, Uzbekistan, Scotland and Wales. High altitude training, ice climbing, rock climbing and road/fell running has provided Kat with a great base to develop her coaching.
